Lightning!!!!! Mystery!!! Cosmo-ecologies of inexplicable interbeing 🤩 thank you for your devotion to these conversations, it is a non-linear realm I long to spend more time in.

I somehow completely missed this 😱 I am not sure why substack didn’t notify me but I’m so very touched, and I love seeing the passage you chose to share!!! Thank you for being so connected and for weaving more and more of those electric threads of connection through this space and our world!!!!

Thank you for weaving threads of connection in your life and sharing them tenderly and honestly in your writing, so that we all might remember, awaken, relax into embodied being. And thank you for re-stacking!

I had been contemplating what I loved so much about this piece, and it struck me (no pun intended ⚡️⚡️) how much the larger cosmos can be perceived in the same way we perceive the human body. I was thinking of the Earth as a single cell with countless moving parts, receiving impulses, energy, electricity, from a larger context. Participant in a larger context where energy is exchanged, received. This is a thought I have had before, that I return to over and over again. Your essay really highlights this micro-macro view of things. So helpful for widening the lens of our perception 🙏🏼

I have also imagined Earth or the Solar System as a cell in a larger galactic body, and the galaxy as an organism within a vast cosmic biosphere. It can seem, from here, like there are so many magnitudes of emptiness between us and the nearest stars, and that the light and information that arrives is so small as to have no real effect.

This is the first time I have seen scientific evidence that input from the greater galaxy and beyond directly effects Earth systems on a daily basis. And if lightning sparks a wildfire, then there is further amplification. Like a nerve signal triggering muscle contraction, and ultimately movement and action. I wonder what else we might be missing - whether starlight or gamma rays or radio waves or gravitational waves or other signals are providing constant input, in effect tuning our star system to the harmonic frequencies of the whole. Galactic rotation and symmetry still seem to be far beyond our understanding - as best as I can tell "dark matter" is just a fudge factor, mass that we can't detect or observe in any way but that "has to be there" for galactic rotation to conform to our models of gravity. Something is creating pattern and form and evolution across vast distance - something that so far eludes our attempts to understand it from within a single cell, within our particular experience of timescales which I expect is vastly different from that of a star or a galaxy.

Yes, like a nerve signal! I think it is more than reasonable to surmise that there is much more that we aren’t seeing, aware of, or making the connections between. While consciousness still is the “hard problem” in science, I love the direction biofield exploration is taking. It makes sense to me that there is an underlying organizing field that is aware, to use your words: “in effect tuning our star system to the harmonic frequencies of the whole” - it will be fascinating to see what evidence emerges in the decades to come.
